The course includes the following tasks for Technical Preparation:
- Full gold crown prep (FGC)
- Porcelain fused to metal crown prep (PFM)
- Class III composite cavity prep
- Class II composite OR amalgam cavity prep
- Class IV composite restoration
- Class II composite restoration
- Class II amalgam restoration
- Provisional crown fabrication for pre-prepared tooth (PFM)
- Endodontic access cavity on molar tooth
- Record Keeping
The course includes OSCE Clinical Preparation
Over 30 OSCE stations will be available for candidates to Practise on including:
- Communication scenarios: including history taking, diagnosis and treatment planning, discussing health promotion strategies and management of patients concerns.
- Management of medical emergencies.
- Different procedures: including x-ray taking, rubber dam placement, suturing, splinting, RPD design, X-rays arrangement and identification of errors, identification of instruments and many others.
APEIRO Training Services will provide the use of ADC manikin (Onedental), dental unit, high and slow hand pieces, gowns, gloves and masks, a set of Instruments will be available for use at the centre only.
You MUST bring the following materials as they are not provided by the centre:
- BURS
- Manikins Jaws and teeth (Magnetic Models) - please notify us in advance if your jaws aren’t the magnetic ones.
- Your own eye protection
All other materials for the course will be provided. We will also provide two 1hour assessment sessions after you finish this course.
You are free to bring any preferred instruments to be used in the centre.
Please note: NO Teeth would be included as part of the course fees.
